DISCOVER PASO ROBLES WINE COUNTRY

FRIDAY,  MAY 10th: 6-8pm

This Friday, discover Paso Robles with us! Since 2000, the number of wineries in Paso Robles has more than tripled from 50 to more than 180, mostly due to an influx of boutique vineyards and wineries. Paso Robles winemakers and wine grape growers are in accord when they say "Quality wine begins in the vineyard." Paso Robles wines tend to be deeply colored and rich due to the intensity of the sun, with fairly bright acidity due to the cool nights. Join on this Friday in tasting Paso Robles! FREE WINE TASTING!

We will be tasting the following FIVE red wines from Paso Robles:

Pear Valley Distraction, Paso Robles, California $50.99
On the nose, blackberry, cherry tobacco, and dark chocolate are followed by a faint hint of mint. Initially soft on the palate, then opens with wild berries, black currants and Morello cherries. The fruit is supported by a firm undercurrent of earth, warm saddle leather and forest floor. This is a wine of power and grace that will continue to develop over the next 8 years.

Pear Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,  Paso Robles, California $33.99
Cassis, black cherry, plum and briar aromas are highlighted with smoky, toasty notes and a hint of vanilla. The black cherry carries over to the palate with currant, candied blackberry, and plum. Fine grained tannins provide structure through the finish of cassis and subtle eucalyptus. Will benefit from cellaring for 5-6 years.

Pear Valley Syrah,  Paso Robles, California $22.99
Rich heady aromas of graham cracker, cherry, and vanilla are up front with subtle white pepper and candied raspberry layered in. The 2009 Syrah was surprisingly aged in zero new oak, but possesses warm rich tones of brown butter, candied cherry, blackberry, and licorice. Still young, the wines tannins are soft and well integrated and will age well for 5+ years.

Vina Robles Cabernet Sauvignon,  Paso Robles, California $29.99
Bright garnet in color with aromas of black cherry, currants, and coriander. An elegant, well balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with dry smooth tannins and a long balanced finish.

Vina Robles Red 4, Paso Robles, California $23.99
Dark ruby in color, this Rhône-style blend features aromas of red cherries and plum with hints of fine tobacco and spice. Medium-bodied, it finishes off with dark fruit and a supple finish.
