Not exclusively. We like to have them on Friday or Saturday because that is when we have gotten the best response. However, alot depends on whether or not we can schedule the distributor or winemaker. No, they will not only be Fridays or only Saturdays. It will rotate. We usually like to schedule other events such as Girls Night Out, Holiday Parties (Mardi Gras, St. Patricks Day, etc.) during the week.

Why do we get two checks when we order food and wine?
|

One check is for the Wine from WineStyles and the other check is for the food from Giorgio's. They are two separate divisions and have their own operating systems. We are working with our computer programmers to fix this.

Well, I guess so....but it's not really a mixed crowd. We wanted to set aside one day each month where "the girls" can just get away and enjoy each others company without any men around. Now if you wanted to DRESS UP as a girl, then I say: Welcome!

It depends on how busy the store is. We don't have a dedicated waitress every evening, but we try to make it to your table. Generally you will get quicker service if you order at the counter, but if you don't mind waiting a bit we would be happy to come to you.

Currently our Point of Sale System does not have the ability to accept a credit card tip. We are working with the programmer on that. Cash tips are accepted and appreciated for service as appropriate. You can, however, leave a credit card tip on the bill you receive from Giorgio's since we use different systems.
Of course, it is not necessary to tip on wine that you are buying to take home. That would be a little obnoxious on our part, no?

What is the deal with the bottle fee?
|
|
Well, it comes down to basic business for a restaurant or bar. A retail store (selling stuff off the shelf and out the door) has a MUCH lower overhead than a restaurant does. That is why you pay so much for a bottle of wine in a restaurant or even why you pay so much for anything at a restaurant. Clearly you can buy a steak at the supermarket for 1/6th the price. But then you have to cook it yourself and clean up your mess. A bottle fee is simply a way of making up the cost of providing a place to enjoy the wine, the glasses, the dishwasher to wash them, the music, etc.
We believe that once you understand the idea behind it you will see that you are really getting a GREAT value. A $20 bottle of wine bought for retail will normally go for AT LEAST $40 in a normal restaurant. At WineStyles and Giorgio's that $20 bottle will only cost $28 or $25 if you are a wine club member. It was a strategic move actually. We agreed to reduce our profit margin on wine in hopes that the customer would see the value they are getting and order more wine more often. If they take a bottle or two home to enjoy as well, then we have more than made up for our lost profit and have given our customers a real value.
